Racism

Racism is the belief that someone is better than another person because of who their kin, especially ancestors, are or were.

Every group of people has some pride in who they are - racism is the assumption that one group has more objective reason to be proud of itself than another. Who says so, or how the reasons to be proud are assessed are rarely or never dicussed. However, it is often suspected that it is very deep and different assumptions about the Creator and the Universe that are at fault. Since many religions claim some special status for certain people, this can be applied also in politics and ethics to excuse taking more power.
