Nets are woven traps usually used by fishers to catch fish.

Net is also a common abbreviation for Internet. It is often used when not all the net services will be available, or for smaller computer networks that are more local, and not entirely visible on the Internet. For instance, if two computers in your house are connected, that is usually called a net, not Internet.
