Leisure (or: recreation) is the use of free time for fun, family or non work activity. It is called recreation since it is for re-creating the self with play.

Common forms of recreation or leisure are:

• sport
• hobby
• travel

A vacation or holiday is the setting aside of time specifically for leisure.

The weekend (in developed nations usually Saturday and Sunday) is usually available for leisure.
