Zion National Park, is located near Springdale, Utah in the southwestern United States. It has an area of 229 mile² (593 km²) and has ranges in elevation from a low point of 3,666 ft (1,128 m) to a high point at 8,726 ft (2,660 m). It was established in 1909 as Mukuntuweap National Monument, became Zion National Park in 1919 and the Kolob section was aded in 1937.
