Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar

The last regularly-scheduled radio drama to air was an episode of "Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar" on September 30, 1962.

Johnny Dollar was the "freelance insurance investigator with the action-packed expense account".

The episodes usually started with a phone call from an insurance agent, calling on Johnny to investigate an unusual claim. The framework of the story was punctuated as items on Johnny's expense account to the client.

The series took Johnny to a variety of locations, the deserts of the southwest, the lakes of the Ozarks, and various cities.

There were several actors who played Johnny Dollar, but arguably the best was Bob Bailey. He gave Johnny a sophistication to work with the people he met, but the rough-and-tumble attitude to throw (and take) a punch when needed.
