Yahya Jammeh

Yahya (Abdul-Aziz Jemus Junkung) Jammeh (born May 25, 1965) is the president of the Gambia (since 1994). He led a military coup in 1994 and was elected as president the next year in widely criticized elections. He was re-elected in 2001, under a process generally deemed fair.

President Jammeh was formerly named Yahya Alphonse Jemus Jebulai Jammeh.
