Women's Christmas
Women's Christmas or
Nollaig na mBan in the
Irish language, is one of the traditional names in
Ireland for
January 6. It is so called because of the tradition (still surviving, though only just) of Irish men taking on all the household duties on that day and giving their spouses a day off. It is also called
Little Christmas and/or
Twelfth Day and is the traditional end of the Christmas season and last day of the school holidays.
