Women's American football

A new variation of American football is Women's American football. Played during the summer and fall, the female version of American football has professional leagues:

• American Football Women's League (AFWL) folded in 2003
• Independent Women's Football League (IWFL)
• National Women's Football Association (NWFA)
• Women's Football Association (WFA) folded in 2003
• Womens Football League (WFL)
• Women's Professional Football League (WPFL)

There were also a league in the 1970's called the National Women's Football League, not be confused with the NWFA.
