Los Angeles and has been dubbed by some as the "world's first discotheque", having opened in
1964.
Los Angeles'
rock and roll scene was arguably born when the Whisky A Go-Go started operation on the
Sunset Strip. From rock to
punk to
metal, the club previewed many of the trends in music to come.
