The West Midlands refers to the western area of The Midlands in central England: see West Midlands (region). The name has also been used for two administrative areas:

• the official government West Midlands region, and European Parliament constituency
• the smaller metropolitan county of the West Midlands, consisting of the conurbation at the heart of the region, centred on Birmingham.
