Washshukanni

Washshukanni was the capital of the Hurrian kingdom of Mitanni (c. 1500 BC). Also spelled as Wassukkani, or Vasukhani, the Sanskrit phrase for "a mine of wealth." Its precise location is unknown, but it is widely thought to have existed on one of the tributaries of the Khabur River. Some scholars believe it later became known as the ancient city of Sikan. It may be located under the so far unexcavated mound of Tell al-Fakhariyeh near Gozan in Syria, to the east of the Euphrates river.

The city is known to have been sacked by the Hittites under Suppiluliumas in 1340 BC and by the Assyrians in about 1300 BC, but very little else is known.
