Walter de Merton
Walter de Merton (died October 27, 1277) was Bishop of Rochester, England from 1274 to 1277. He was also Lord Chancellor from 1261 to 1263 and from 1272 to 1274. He was the founder of Merton College, Oxford (1264), one of the University of Oxford's earliest colleges.
