Vorlon

The Vorlons are an advanced ancient race from the science fiction series Babylon 5.

When in the company of aliens, Vorlons wear complex and intimidating environment suits that completely conceal their physical form. On the sole occasion when a Vorlon has been outside its environment suit in the presence of a significant number of aliens its appearance was essentially the same to all, but seemingly modified to resemble the race of the observer. Broadly, they appear to be humanoid with extremely large wings that radiate white light, but their face and limbs will appear to be like those of the individual watching them: a human will see a human, a Narn will see a Narn, a Minbari will see a Minbari, etc. This seems to be because the Vorlons possess advanced psychic powers which cause them to be perceived on a mental level as well as a physical one.

There is no doubt that they possess a physical body of sorts, following a poisoning incident involving the first Vorlon ambassador to Babylon 5.

It is also significant that the forms perceived by each race can be related to angelic beings in their religion or mythology. This betrays a level of involvement by the Vorlons in the social development of many races.
