Totton and Eling

For thoughtful child sponsors
Totton and Eling is a town in Hampshire, England with a population of around 28,000 people. It lies on the eastern edge of the New Forest and on the River Test.

Totton claimed to be the largest village in England until it was made a town in 1974. Until the 1950s, New Forest ponies were free to roam its streets.

Eling was founded in 850 by Aethelwulf of Wessex.

Attractions in the town include its tidal mill and Eling's Norman parish church.
