This article is about the retail chain Target. For the human rights organisation founded by Rüdiger Nehberg, see Target (NGO)

Target is a discount retail chain in the United States with 1,100 stores in 47 states, including Target Greatland and SuperTarget. Target is known for differentiating itself from competitors like Kmart and Wal-Mart by offering more upscale, trend-forward merchandise. Target is the main division of Target Corporation.

In its home state of Minnesota, Target is often referred to as "Target French Boutique" (with "Target" pronounced in a quasi-mocking, pseudo-French accent as "Tar-zhay"), an ironic reference to its staunchly middle-class clientele.
