ToME is a roguelike computer game created by Darkgod. More precisely it is an Angband variant, based on the code of ZAngband, which now differs greatly from it. ToME is an acronym for Troubles (or Tales) of Middle Earth. It was formerly known as PernAngband.

The game is set in the world created by J. R. R. Tolkien, with optional add-on characters from the world created by H. P. Lovecraft and Roger Zelazny's Amber universe. These are inherited from Cthangband, and ZAngband, respectively.

The player can create a character, and choose from an extended list of races and classes, ranging from Dúnadan warriors to Elven mages. There is a lot of freedom. Actually, the game also features some things that are not found in Tolkien's books, but that do make sense in a fantasy world and add re-playability to the game.

After creating a character, the player can explore this world, gain experience and skills, defeat dangerous monsters in dark dungeons and find powerful artifacts.

There is also a multiplayer version of ToME, called TomeNET.

ToME is open source and under active development. Bugs should be reported on rec.games.roguelike.angband or on ToME's own forums. Currently in development is on ToME 3, which will include greater lua support, and drastically change the internal game handling of objects and flags.

Important features of ToME not in Angband include:
