1. Swabia ist a historic region in Germany and a language area. It is mostly identified with the former state of WÃÂürttemberg, secondly also with Swabia (2).
2. Swabia (German: Schwaben) is one of the seven administrative regionss of Bavaria, Germany, located in the south-west of Bavaria. The name derives from the Suebi tribe, who settled in the region in the 3rd century. When defining the borders of the area by the dialect it's somewhat bigger than the administrative region, part of Baden-Württemberg also uses the Swabian dialect.
Both Sepp Dietrich and Erwin Rommel were Swabian.
