Subdivisions of Belarus

At the higher administrative level, Belarus is divided into 6 voblasts (usually translated as provinces or regions) and one municipality (horad, i.e., "city"); the latter one is a special status of the capial of Belarus.

  1. Minsk, the horad
  2. Brest voblast (Brest)
  3. Homyel voblast (Homyel')
  4. Hrodna voblast (Hrodna)
  5. Mahilyow voblast (Mahilyow)
  6. Minsk voblast (Minsk)
  7. Vitsebsk voblast (Vitsebsk)
