Stockport County F.C.

Stockport County Football Club are an English football team currently playing in the Second Division of The Football League.

The club was founded in 1883 under the name Heaton Norris Rovers.

However, since the late Nineteenth Century they have been known as Stockport County and have, since 1903, played at Edgeley Park where they regularly attract crowds of over 5,000. The club colours of Stockport County are blue and white.

The club nickname is The Hatters. This is due to Stockport's history as a centre of the hatting industry. The club shares the nickname with another Second Division team, Luton Town.
