Sovereign class starship
In the fictional universe of Star Trek, the Sovereign class of starships are the most advanced and powerful ships in Starfleet during the mid- to late 2370s and the 2380s.A Sovereign class ship is estimated to have 24 decks and measure 689 meters in length, making it slightly smaller than the Galaxy class starship that preceded it, but it is somewhat more powerful, and is equipped with quantum torpedoes.

In the fictional universe of Star Wars, there exists a different Sovereign-class starship; this one is a heavy battleship (or "Super Star Destroyer") of the Galactic Empire. More advanced and powerful than the Executor-class super star destroyer that preceded it, the Sovereign-class super star destroyer is somewhat shorter in length (15,000 meters as opposed to 17,600 meters) but considerably broader and deeper - and thus more massive - than the earlier ships. The Sovereign-class star destroyer also carries a medium superlaser, similar to the kind found on the Death Star. This superlaser is many orders of magnitude less powerful, however, being "only" powerful enough to crack open the crust of a planet rather than destroy it outright.External links
