One of the most talented & influential, yet underrated & unjustly ignored creators of early '00s bootlegs/bastard pop. Based in North Wales, and known for ignoring the easy pop tracks and using music like Focus, Timebox, Venetian Snares, Mogwai, Information Society, Soundtrack Of Our Lives and Chicago as foundations for his work. The radio mixes he produced for BBC Radio and XFM were peerless (mixing Pink Floyd with Ini Kamoze, The Human League with The Trammps and The Beatles with Soulsearcher) but again less impressive/more commercial sets got the publicity/praise on the internet and in the press. Possibly his seeming reluctance to relentlessly publicise himself / "play the game" is one factor for this.

He was also (allegedly) responsible for a notorious set of bootleg tracks done under another name ("Freelance Hairdresser", a 'nod' to the Freelance Hellraiser) the most famous of which pitched Eminem against a 1950s piano rag by Winifred Atwell, and another that laid the same vocal over an chopped up mix of 1970s/1980s UK TV theme tunes.

He currently (early 2004) seems to have given up on the bastard pop scene and will be releasing original music commercially while establishing a career as a live DJ.

The name "Soundhog" is taken from a 1970s era blank cassette-tape made by EMI.
