Solihull is a town and metropolitan district in the West Midlands of England. it is a part of the West Midlands conurbation and is located south-east of Birmingham. Its population is around 205,000. It was formed in 1974 by the merger of Solihull County Borough and Meriden Rural District, which forms the main rural part of the borough and county.
