Sigrid the Haughty
Sigrid the Haughty, Sigrid Storrada, (most probable original Slavic name Światosława) ok. 967 - 1014), daughter of Mieszko I of Poland and Dubrawka. In 980 (985?) married Eric VI of Sweden. He may gave birth to Olaf Skotkonung who became later king of Sweden, but some are doubting that. After 994 he married Sweyn I of Denmark. From second marriage he probably had five children, including Canute the Great and Harald II of Denmark. The medieval chroniclers generally confirm the assumption that her father was Mieszko I, but saga authors (most important of which is Snorre Sturlasson) put her father as Skogul Toste.
Her Slavic name is generally agreed as Świętosława, but only as a reconstruction based on single mentioning that her daughter was "Santslaue soror CNVTI regis nostri" from the "Liber vitae of the New Minster and Hyde Abbey Winchester" and assumption, that mentioned daughter would be called after her mother.
