Sidney Joseph Perelman (February 1, 1904October 17, 1979) was an American humorist, author, and screenwriter. He is noted for writing scripts for several Marx Brothers films (such as Horse Feathers and Monkey Business), the Academy Award wining screenplay Around the World in 80 Days, and numerous short stories and sketches for The New Yorker.
