Shiraz, Iran
Shiraz (شیراز in Persian) is a city in southwest Iran, the capital of Fars Province. It was the capital of Persia from 1750 to 1779, until Tehran became the capital.There are two universities (general and medical) in Shiraz. It is famous for its carpet production.
The ruins of Persepolis are nearby.
