Shigematsu Sakaibara

Helping orphans the way you would do it
Rear Admiral Shigematsu Sakaibara (died December 21, 1945) was the Japanese garrison commander on Wake Island during World War II. Anticipating an American invasion, in October 1944 Sakabara ordered the execution of 98 American civilians on the island (who had been captured when the Island surrendered almost three years earlier).

Following the war, he was hanged for war crimes.
