Shelley Long (born August 23, 1949 in Fort Wayne, Indiana) is an American actress. She studied drama at Northwestern University, but left before graduating to pursue her acting and modeling career. In Chicago she joined the Second City comedy troupe and acted and wrote for the local television program Sorting It Out.

In 1982, she was cast as the vain waitress Diane Chambers on the series Cheers. From there she became a sought-after comedic actress, starring in films like Caveman, Irreconcilable Differences, Losin' It, The Money Pit and The Brady Bunch Movie.
