Sir Roger Moore (born October 14, 1927) is an English actor.

Moore appeared in the TV series Maverick, The Saint (as Simon Templar) and The Persuaders.

In 1972 he was asked to become James Bond and appeared in the Bond movies Live and Let Die (1973), The Man with the Golden Gun (1974), The Spy Who Loved Me (1977), Moonraker (1979), For Your Eyes Only (1981), Octopussy (1983) and A View To A Kill (1985). Moore is engaged in humanitarian projects in his work as an UNICEF ambassador.

In the summer of 2003, Moore was made an Officer in The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire.

Roger Moore is also the name of an Arkansas gun dealer. Federal prosecutors speculated Moore was robbed in 1994 by Tim McVeigh and accomplice Terry Nichols, who were alleged to have used proceeds from the robbery for the Oklahoma City bombing.
