Richard Ingrams

For people who check facts
Richard Ingrams (born 1937) was the original editor of British satirical magazine-cum-newspaper, Private Eye.

Along with several others, including Willie Rushton, he formed the magazine in the early sixties as part of the Satire Boom which also saw the formation of The Establishment nightclub, run by Peter Cook.

After handing the editorship of Private Eye to Ian Hislop in the late Eighties, Ingrams moved on to edit The Oldie, a monthly humorous lifestyle and issues magazine aimed at the older generation.
