Ramon Llull

Ramon Llull (or in Latin Raimundus Lullus, ca. 1232 - ca. 1316) - Writer and philosopher, born in Majorca, creator of Catalan prose. Wrote 'Ars Magna', 'Llibre de meravelles', 'Blanquerna'.

Llull pressed the study of Arabic and other then-understudied languages in Spain for the purpose of the conversion of Muslims to Christianity.

He wrote in Arabic, Latin and Catalan.
