Punisa Racic
Puniša Račić was a Serbian nationalist from Montenegro (Zetska Banovina), member of the Yugoslav Parliament from the National Radical Party.During the parliament session on June 20, 1928, Račić allegedly took offense at comments made by several Croatian deputies from the opposition Croatian Peasant Party. On the chamber floor Racic pulled out a pistol and shot and mortally wounded several Croatian MPs, including the leader of the Stjepan Radić. Racic was arrested and convicted of the crime, but was sentenced only to [[house arrest and later released.
Račić led a quiet life during most of World War II. He was captured, tried and executed by Partisans in October 1944, when he was tried by a military court of partisan 21st. Serbian division and executed.
