Pulmonolgy
A subspecialty of internal medicine that primarily deals with respiratory diseases, such as asthma, emphysema, and lung cancer. Pulmonologists may also care for medical patients with respiratory failure on mechanical ventilators and failure of other organs in intensive care units. Still other pulmonologists may also treat patients with sleep disorders like obstructive sleep apnea or restless legs syndrome as part of their practice.
