Province of Saxony
The
Province of Saxony has been a
prussian Province from the
Napoleonic Wars 1815 until
1947. It is - together with the much smaller former state of
Anhalt and some small exclaves of
Brunswick - one of the predecessors of the now existing
German federal state of
Saxony-Anhalt. Capital was
Magdeburg The Province of Saxony was one of the richest regions of Prussia with highly developed agriculture and industry.
