Product liability

Product liability is a legal theory that can make the manufacturer of a product liable for injuries that result from defects in the product. In legal systems that allow this kind of liability, it is usually limited in scope. For example, the injuries must be physical, and in many cases the defect must be foreseeable and preventable.
