List of Premiers of Western Australia

Western Australia (WA) was officially granted responsible government by Britain in 1889 and it became a self-governing colony. John Forrest was the only Premier of WA as a self-governing colony. Following Federation in 1901, WA became an Australian State. The Premiers were not officially associated with organised parties until 1904.

See Premiers of the Australian states for a description and history of the office of Premier.
