Petri Gerdt, the 19-year-old chemistry college student suspected of making and planting the explosive device that killed him and six others Friday evening October 11, 2002 outside a McDonald's restaurant in the mall in Vantaa, about 10 miles north of Helsinki. Gerdt acted alone and ruled out any links to terrorist groups.
