Percy Heath b. April 30, 1923; Wilmington, NC Double bass player, most famous for his 40 + years with the Modern Jazz Quartet (MJQ) in which his melodic inventive and powerfull yet sensitive playing were an assett to this inovative jazz group . Mr Heath has also worked with Miles Davis ,Dizzy Gillespie Charlie Parker, and Thelonious Monk.
