This Pegasos is the computer platform. Pegasos can also refer to Pegasus, in Greek mythology.
Pegasos is a Micro ATX motherboard powered by a G3/G4 PowerPC processor, featuring 3 PCI slots, 1 AGP slot, onboard ethernet 1Gbit, USB, DDR, sound, and Firewire. Like the Apple Macintosh counterparts, it has the Open Firmware system. PegasosPPC does not require a cooling fan - it's called "cool computing".

It is currently able to run Linux PPC, BSD and MorphOS (microkernel PPC operating system). The following Operating Systems can be run on the Pegasos through emulation: Amiga OS 3.x, MacOS, MacOS X and Windows.

More operating systems are in the process of being ported.
