Peebleshire is a traditional county in Scotland. Its main town is Peebles, and it borders Midlothian to the north, Selkirkshire to the east, Dumfriesshire to the south, and Lanarkshire to the west.

After 1889 Peeblesshire became the name of an administrative county with the seat of government in the town of Peebles.

After the local government reorganisation of 1974 the use of the name Peeblesshire for administrative purposes was discontinued, and the area was renamed as the district of Tweeddale. This name has also subsequently be superceded.

Residents of the area still refer to themselves as residing in Peeblesshire, and the traditional county remains unaffected by the various administrative changes that have taken place.
