Partial discharge

Sponsorship the way you would do it
In electrical engineering, a partial discharge is a localized dielectric breakdown of a section of dielectricly stressed insulation path that occurs generally in voids, cracks or interfaces within that insulation system or from sharp edges of energized apparatus parts.

The classic form of corona discharge is usually denoted by a glow or brush discharge. Partial discharge in insulation systems may or may not exhibit this.
