North Somerset

North Somerset is a unitary authority in England, historically part of the county of Somerset but now administered independently. Between 1974 and April 1, 1996, it was the Woodspring district of the short-lived administrative county of Avon. It includes Weston-super-Mare, Clevedon, Nailsea, Portishead and Yatton. According to the 2001 census, it has a population of about 190000.
It borders the administrative counties of Bristol, Bath and North East Somerset and Somerset.
