Neman River

The Neman (Lithuanian Nemunas, Belarussian Nyoman, Polish Niemen, German Memel, Swedish Njemen) is a major Eastern European River rising in Belarus and flowing 937 km through Lithuania before draining into the Baltic Sea near Klaipeda. Part of the Neman served as the border between northern East Prussia (now the Kaliningrad oblast, Russia) and Lithuania.

The largest tributary is the River Neris (Viliya).

The largest cities on the Neman are Hrodna (Belarus) and Kaunas (Lithuania).
