Nayarit is a state in the west of Mexico.

It borders the states of Sinaloa, Zacatecas and Durango to the north, and Jalisco to the east and south. To the west it borders the Pacific Ocean. The "Islas Tres Marias" in the Pacific are part of the state of Nayarit.

The capital of Nayarit is Tepic. Also in Nayarit are the cities of Acaponeta, Tecuala, and Tuxpan.
