Narragansett

The Narragansett tribe of Native American people lived principally on Islands in Narragansett Bay as well as in Rhode Island and eastern Massachusetts when the first European settlers arrived. They spoke an Algonquian language. The town of Narragansett, Rhode Island is named for them.
