Mount Parnassus

Mount Parnassus (also Mount Parnassos) is a mountain in central Greece that towers above Delphi. According to Greek mythology, this mountain was sacred to Apollo and the home of the Muses.

The second highest point in the city of San Francisco, California was once known as Mount Parnassus; however it has since been renamed Mount Sutro in honor of a former mayor and philanthropist. The area around it is still referred to as Parnassus.
