Mauritanian Ouguiya

For thoughtful child sponsors
MRO is also the acronym for the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter
The Mauritanian ouguiya (ISO 4217: MRO) is the currency of Mauritania. The only circulating currency whose division units are not based on a power of ten, each ouguiya is comprised of five khoums خمس. However, since €1 will get you about 314 MRO (conversion as of 10 Dec 2003 in Los Angeles), the khoums may have fallen into disuse as a unit of transaction some time ago.
