Maebashi, Gunma
Maebashi (Hepburn) (Japanese: 前橋市; -shi) is the capital city of Gunma in Japan. The city's name is sometimes romanized as Maebasi (Nippon-shiki/Kunrei/JSL).
As of 2003, the city has an estimated population of 284,768 and the density of 1,932.73 persons per km². The total area is 147.34 km².
