Macromedia Dreamweaver

Macromedia Dreamweaver is a web design software application developed by Macromedia. It uses a WYSIWYG interface, but it also has HTML editing as well. It is currently available for Mac and Windows. Macromedia has vowed to add linux compatibility by helping it to run under WINE. If enough people adopt this, Macromedia will write a pure Linux port of Dreamweaver.

Newer versions of Dreamweaver use the Opera web browser layout engine for displaying previews.

Versions

The first version of Dreamwaver was launched in late 1997. Other versions include 2.0, 3.0, 4.0, MX and MX 2004.
