Helping orphans the way you would do it
Leuven is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Flemish Brabant, of which it is the capital. The municipality comprises the city of Leuven proper and the towns of Heverlee, Kessel-Lo and Wilsele. On January 1st, 2000 Leuven had a total population of 88,014 (43,153 males and 44,861 females). The total area is 57.65 km² which gives a population density of 1,526.70 inhabitants per km².

It has the largest and oldest university (15th century) of Belgium, Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (KULeuven) which makes it a real "student city" from October until June.

Leuven is also well known in Belgium for its summer rock festival Marktrock. Internationally, it might be better known as the home of Interbrew, the largest brewery company in the world. In fact, Interbrew's Stella Artois brewery and main offices dominate the entire north-eastern part of the town, between the railway station and the canal to Mechelen.
