Latissimus dorsi

Latissimus dorsi is a large flat muscle located on the back. It acts on the arm to produce a variety of movements.

It is attached medially to the lower spine, and inserts at the intertubercular groove of the humerus.

Its actions include adduction and extension of the arm, also medial rotation. Latissimus dorsi is active when climbing.
